about
Orchidæ is Pépe's new platform for music furthering explorations in the "Hardcore Continuum". Sonics that envision lost futures at the crossover between technological dystopia and impressionist visions of nature.
"THB" functions as a stepping point to the notion of this continuum; Sonic artefacts rescued from a forgotten dancefloor and an aura reminiscent of anarchy, cyber- communities and rave-centered movements throughout the last four decades.
A note from Pépe:
Whilst within the current climate it is best to not hoard the platform in order to give space to voices who need it, I'd like to present orchidae-001 “THB”.
The irony of the track's former name and artwork (The Bomb) are not lost on me in these times and despite being both a play on the spirit of anarchy and protest as well as the obvious dance-floor-bomb nature of the piece, it would be frivolous and naive to make light of anything resembling the topic of war.
I do not wish to evoke any of these current happenings with my release and I cannot in good conscience release this music without utilising my platform to try my best to better the current situation, therefore a percentage of both mine and my manager’s proceeds will go towards medical aid in Palestine

All the tracks are great but Stepper is the standout for me! pounding syncopated kicks, rolling handdrums and playful sample work, dancefloor destroyer. Jack G.
